Your piece is made by hand in a small workshop that takes care of every little detail, and that makes the wait longer. 15–25 days from order to doorstep is normal, depending on how many orders are in the queue before yours, and 25 days at the latest. We'd rather be honest with you about why it takes time: real art takes time. Custom pieces ship on their own, apart from anything else in your order.

Unscrew the tiny cap at the top. The chain stays on the cap, so the heart comes free in your hand. Use the little funnel, spoon and tweezers from the box to add a pinch of ashes or a few strands of their fur, then screw the cap back on.

Not ready to open the urn yet? A little of their fur is enough for now, and the heart opens again whenever you are.

Send it anyway. If they're gone and that photo is all you have, we understand how much it matters. A person looks at it first, and if it won't engrave well, we tell you before anything is made, so your photo is never wasted.

The heart is 2.5 × 2 cm (1 × 0.8 in), about the size of the top of your thumb, on a fine 50 cm (20 in) box chain. Small enough to wear every day, close to your heart, and their face is still clear to see.

Take it off before you shower or swim, so the little chamber stays dry.

No. The heart, cap and chain are stainless steel all the way through, with no gold- or silver-coloured layer on top.

Most jewellery at this price is a thin coloured layer over brass or copper. That layer wears through in weeks, and the metal underneath is what turns skin green. Ours has no layer to lose.
