Your piece is made by hand in a small workshop that takes care of every little detail, and that makes the wait longer. 15–25 days from order to doorstep is normal, depending on how many orders are in the queue before yours, and 25 days at the latest. We'd rather be honest with you about why it takes time: real art takes time. Custom pieces ship on their own, apart from anything else in your order.

Yes. The heart is about 3.5 cm (1.4 in) across, roughly the size of a postage stamp, with your cat cut out large in the middle. Many photo pendants are a small round disc where the face is hard to make out.

No. Pendant, chain and rings are stainless steel all the way through, with no gold- or silver-coloured layer on top.

Most jewellery at this price is a thin coloured layer over brass or copper. That layer wears through in weeks, and the metal underneath is what turns skin green. Ours has no layer to lose.

Nothing is printed and nothing comes from a stock picture. Every pendant starts with your photo and goes through six steps before it reaches you.

  1. Drawn from your photo An artist studies your photo and redraws your fur baby as a portrait made for steel, then checks it against your photo.
  2. Laser-engraved Their portrait and name are burned into a solid stainless steel heart.
  3. Two tiny holes A fine drill opens a hole on each side of the portrait, so the blade can get in.
  4. Cut out by hand A hair-thin saw follows their outline until they sit free inside the heart.
  5. Every edge polished Each cut is polished smooth and rounded, so nothing is sharp against skin.
